Carnival and the Carnivalesque in Caribbean Literature & Culture

This conference explores how writers, critics, and community organizers use carnival motifs to interrogate the Caribbean imagination and explore aspects of Caribbean history and society and will include readings and presentations by writers, critics, students, and community artists. Some of the days events include:

  • Writing Carnival form the Diaspora
  • Considering the Carnivalesque
  • A Caribbean Community Carnival in the Washington Metropolitan Area
