Slam!: Poetry Reading and Workshop

The power of the word, spoken that is, can be a truly transformative experience whether as the performer or as an audience member. The free form nature of this style of creative expression lends itself to be tailored by the individual to inspire, provoke, entertain and inform as an act of stylized storytelling. With the assistance of local spoken word artists, students will have the opportunity to explore this form of creative writing and performance to tell their own unique stories.
