National Endowment for the Humanities/Maryland Humanities Council Public Presentation

1102J Francis Scott Key, Dean's Conference Room
Friday, February 14, 2014 - 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM

The College is pleased to invite you to a public presentation by David Weinstein, Senior Program Officer in the Division of Public Programs at the National Endowment for the Humanities. Dr. Weinstein will be presenting on the NEH Public Programs grant process, highlighting funding priorities and the relationship of scholarship to public programs within the various grant mechanisms.  In addition, Phoebe Stein, Executive Director of the Maryland Humanities Council, will discuss digital humanities funding and collaborations at the Maryland Humanities Council. This is a unique and valuable opportunity for ARHU faculty to hear from representatives of NEH and MHC, and to ask pertinent questions related to your work.  Please RSVP to Cara Kennedy (ckenned3@umd.edu) if you plan to attend the public talk. This event is open to the public.

Following the public talk, David Weinstein and Phoebe Stein will be available for a limited number of individual meetings with faculty who are planning to submit a grant proposal to one the NEH Public Programs or Maryland Humanities Council funding opportunities during this coming year. If you are interested in an individual meeting between 2:00-4:00pm, please respond as soon as possible to Cara Kennedy (ckenned3@umd.edu) so that we can try to accommodate as many interested faculty as possible. Please visit http://www.neh.gov/divisions/public for more information on NEH Public Programs and funding opportunities, and http://www.mdhc.org/grants/ for information on Maryland Humanities Council Grants.
