“Hands Up Don’t Shoot Our Youth Movement” 2nd Screening / w Kevin Winstead

For the Hands Up Don’t Shoot Our Youth Movement production, Filmmaker Ralph L. Crowder III documented the story of Mike Brown’s tragic death and the climate and conditions of Ferguson, Missouri including the people, places, faces and uprising of young black youth. On the day of Mike Brown’s funeral in Ferguson Missouri, there was an atmosphere of rest and calm in the people’s struggle for Justice. It created a unique opportunity for Freedom Radio News & Culture Television Network to engage a needed Black perspective of media communication in which a video camera was on and captured a wide range of voices. The input on the death of Mike Brown and the uprising of young black youth is a centerpiece of discussion in this very important news documentary regarding the climate and conditions of Ferguson, Missouri. (Anywhere U.S.A.)

This event is free and open to the public.

The Baltimore Stories project has been made possible in part by a major grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities, and is a collaboration between the University of Maryland, Maryland Humanities Council, the University of Maryland Baltimore County, Enoch Pratt Free Library and the Greater Baltimore Cultural Alliance.
