Andrew Carnegie Fellows 2021 Competition Deadline

TTK faculty are invited to apply to the Andrew Carnegie Fellows 2021 competition, which offers $200,000 fellowships in the humanities and social sciences. The University of Maryland is holding a limited submission competition to select the two institutional nominees: one senior scholar and one junior scholar (must have received PhD in the past 10 years).
This year's themes (more details here) are:
- Global connections and global ruptures
- Strengthening U.S. democracy and exploring new narratives
- Environments, natural and human
- Technological and cultural creativity—potential and perils
If you want to be considered for a UMD nominee spot, please submit the following items via InfoReady by midnight on November 1.
- Draft letter of nomination, drafted by you, written as if from President Pines to Carnegie. Carnegie's directions: "The letter should include a brief description of the candidate’s accomplishments and potential and describe how his or her contributions will address pressing issues and cultural shifts affecting us at home and abroad."
- Copy of an email from your chair acknowledging your application to this fellowship
- 3-5 page prospectus, double-spaced, 12 point font (see more directions below)
- Current CV
