Baltimore Forum: Research and the City

Co-hosted by the Arts and Humanities Center for Synergy and the Division of Research, this interdisciplinary forum served as an opportunity for UMD-Baltimore centric researchers on campus to connect and get to know each other and their research interests. The event continued discussions begun on 3/24 as part of the NEH, Baltimore Stories, Public Square grant activities. 

Welcome and Opening Remarks were made by Vice President and Chief Research Officer Pat O'Shea, Dean Bonnie Thornton Dill, and Eva Caldera, Assistant Chairman for Partnership and Strategic Initiatives at the National Endowment for the Humanities.

The Forum included a short panel discussion and overview of UMD major reserach thrusts which include the City of Baltimore, why it is such an important time in the city's history, and why this is such an important time for UMD to be involved in providing support and solutions. The remainder of the Forum included One-minute/One-frame Presentations of faculty reserach and/or scholarly interests in Baltimore followed by networking.
